Life can be difficult for many reasons, and sometimes your usual strengths fail you, and you find yourself teetering on the edge of something scary. But your mental health can be in your control and at Creekside we'll help you figure out how. We have lots of experience treating depression, anxiety, and personality disorders. We can also help with ordinary problems of living, and life transitions that create stress and suffering.
Whether it is a problem with your partner, child, or youth, or your family is just not functioning the way you would like it to, Creekside may be able to help. We will meet together with whoever wants to come to get started on making the changes you want.
Creekside specializes in support for parents. We can help with new or changing families, behavioral problems in young children, children's anxiety, and troubled teenagers. We believe that a combination of parenting support and child/youth therapy is the best way to address the problems that children and youth experience. And we have the tools to help you become more effective and hopeful as a parent. Check out our popular Parenting the Extreme Teen Support and Education Group under the MORE button.
At Creekside Therapy we know that there are times when a family and teen can feel totally stuck and unable to move forward towards health. To help you get un-stuck we approach this two-part in-home consultation with both a mental health and a family functioning perspective. Our objective is to work with you to make sense of the whole situation, not just the struggling teen, and to generate solutions that will make sense to all of you because they are rooted in a joint understanding of what is really going on.
· What is at the root of the mental health issues that the teen is experiencing
· How the family dynamics both help and hinder the developmental process of the teen
· How to proceed from here in terms of further reading, therapy, or parenting work over the next few weeks for each family member
The second part of the consultation happens approximately two weeks following, when family members have had some time to think and process. This follow-up takes place over the course of a morning (9 am – 12:30 pm) and is planned in accordance with the needs determined in the first session, and will include the following components:
At this point the consultation should be complete and parents and teen can determine how they would like to move forward. Resources within the existing support system may be utilized, and Creekside Therapy may or may not play a further role.
The fee for this two-part comprehensive assessment is $1500. A deposit of $1000 is payable prior to the initial session. The remaining $500 is payable prior to the second session.
